چکیده

The objective of this work was evaluation the supercritical antisolvent extraction (SAE) process to generate microparticles with antioxidant activity from Moringa leaves. A biodegradable polymer used as an inductor particle precipitation. An ethanolic extract 25 mg/mL in SAE process, during which influences pressure (100–200 bar), temperature (35–55 °C) and extract–polymer ratio (0.11–0.33) on size were evaluated. flow rate 3 mL/min, a CO2 (scCO2) 30 g CO2/min nozzle diameter 100 µm kept constant. identification several compounds leaves, namely, coumaric acid quercetin 3D glucoside, determined ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. precipitates measured 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl. Spherical diameters range 2–5 obtained, moderate activity.

Supercritical antisolvent precipitation of PHBV microparticles.

The micronization of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) from organic solutions using supercritical antisolvent (SAS) technique has been successfully achieved. SAS experiments were carried out at different operational conditions and microspheres with mean diameters ranging from 3 to 9 microm were obtained. The effect of CO(2) and liquid flow, temperature and pressure on particle...

Production of Spherical Aerogel Microparticles by Supercritical Extraction of Emulsion

Due to high surface area, low density, open pore structure and excellent insulation properties aerogels were intensively investigated in the past decades for diverse range of applications. The state of the art of aerogel production by supercritical drying is to produce monolithic aerogel, where the sol is aged in molds and dried by extraction with supercritical CO2. Aerogels in form of spherica...

Polymer Encapsulation of Fine Particles by a Supercritical Antisolvent Process

Coating and encapsulation of fine particles with polymer using a supercritical antisolvent (SAS) coating process was investigated in this research. Synthesized submicron silica particles were used as host particles and poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA), a biodegradable polymer used for controlled release of drugs, was chosen as the coating material. In the SAS coating process a suspension of si...

Supercritical Fluid Extraction and Characterisation of Essential Oil from Moringa Oleifera Leaves

This work was aimed to extract and characterise the essential oils presented in the leaves of Moringa Oleifera using supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and compare the results against those using the conventional Soxhlet extraction method. The oils extracted were analysed using GC-MS. The compounds were identified according to their retention indices and mass spectra (EI, 70eV). The effects o...
